Help Chicago growers at the forefront of food justice

Earth's Heartbeat

Advocates for Urban Agriculture end of year giving campaign "Nourishing Roots" is celebrating soil as a living relative alongside the growers who nourish the land. AUA is the only organization providing growers with free soil testing assessing heavy metals and nutrient levels to ensure locally grown food is safer and nutritious. AUA has been and will continue to work diligently to limit exposure of soil contaminants to BIPOC community members, on Chicago's south and west sides, who are growing food and build long-term sustainable relationships with the land.

๐ŸŒฑ Your donation goes a long way in nourishing the future of AUA's purpose to invest in under-resourced BIPOC-led urban farms and community gardens who are at the forefront of transforming our current food system. As a Black, Indigenous and People of Color, queer, disabled grower-led, food justice advocacy organization, we are inviting our supporters to donate any amount or become monthly donors, no matter how small of an amount, our goals are to:

๐Ÿ’œ Raise $5,000 to provide 10 BIPOC growers with heavy metal/nutrient soil testing, analysis, remediation + education
๐Ÿ’œ Build a monthly base of supporters of allies, earth stewards, and urban growers
๐Ÿ’œ Collectively, revive contaminated soil.

Your support is the seed that starts it all. 100 people donating $25 makes it possible for AUA to provide 5 growers the soil quality assessments and remediation support needed to grow food safely and revive the land. With 20 monthly donors giving at least $20 a month, we can reach our fundraising goal! The health of our soil is the cornerstone of a sustainable food future. By donating one-time or monthly, you are investing in the foundation of our harvests to set the stage for abundance.

At the heart of every growing space there is a quiet humble hero - soil, rich and full of life. Itโ€™s the foundation of what feeds us, what nurtures our harvests.
